Bart was without a doubt the best tall story teller ever. He could string you along with the perfect poker face, until you almost believed him. He was the first neighbour we met when we came to the cottage in 2004. We were in the garage playing darts, he was visiting down the lane, heard us and came over. Four hours later our friendship was sealed. We'll miss him, his stories, his humour, his help, his friendship. Our condolences to Donna & family. Rest in Peace Bart. Bill & Marleen

Bart will be sadly missed on Mica Point. It has been a privilege and joy to be his friend and cottage neighbour for 14 years especially during his proud and active Grandpa years with Brady.
The strong winds across the lake on December 11th were apt for the passing of such a strong, charismatic man and kind, fun-loving spirit. Bart has left us too soon and life will be different, but it has been unforgettably better because of him.
You worked hard, you played hard, you loved your family fiercely, now may you rest in peace my dear friend Bart.

Bart was one of the kindest people our family has ever had the pleasure of knowing. We are so devastated to hear this news and my heart goes out to Donna and the family. We are so deeply sorry.
Our family will never forget the day we came to view our family cottage (now our family cottage on Bobs lake of over 15 years) Bart was there to greet us during our viewing and was happy to answer any questions we had about the area. Once we got chatting, Bart offered to take our whole family out on his boat for a tour of Bob’s lake. We were so shocked by his kindness and generosity, and took him up on the offer. Boy, are we ever happy we did. In that moment, we knew that we had not only found an incredible family cottage, but an even better neighbour and friend. From that day, Bart (and Donna) were only ever a call away. Whether it was to share some drinks, show the kids how to cast a line, invite us all over to his beach, help us scared kids take care of any pesky water snakes, or help our dad put the boat in the water.
Thank you Bart for everything you have done for our family over the years. I have no doubt that this memory is only a hint at all the kind things you’ve done over your lifetime. You will be missed by so many and we will always cherish the time we had together. Thank you, may you rest in paradise.

The very last time we had the pleasure of Bart at the Bob's Lake Tourney in Sept 2019. Missed him and Bill in 2020 due to the covid. Never thought that would be the last time to see him. Glad he took the trophy with him. Thoughts are with the Family, take care, Bart is a giant of a man for sure.

Donna, family and the rest of the Young gang, sending my most sincerest condolences at this most difficult time, support and hugs. I'll never forgot the opportunities he provided me while working with him at Aeroquip for over 12 years, nor will i forget his BS stories, they were the best. Some were true however, one time a few of us went fishing up in northern Ontario, we've been trolling for about 2 hours as the action was a bit slow when Bart says I'll bet anyone $20 I'll catch a fish in the next 10 seconds, he had a couple of takers, and sure enough within 10 seconds he reels in a pickerel. On the way home a few days later he starts this little laugh, what's so funny i ask, that fish i got in 10 seconds he says, i go yeah, that was amazing, you must have had a feeling, oh yeah he says, i did, I had that fish on my line for about an hour trolling.
