Obituary of Grace Goheen

Neri Grace Goheen

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Neri Grace Goheen on  Saturday, January 8th, 2022, in her 62nd year; at the Perth Hospital with family by  her side, after a short and courageous battle with Cancer.

She was the beloved wife and best friend for 42 wonderful years to Larry, their  love brought them two beautiful daughters Lylla and Samantha (Paul). Grace was  aunt to Kathleen Verardo and sister-in-law to David Goheen. She will be greatly  missed by Linda Pearce (cousin).

Grace was predeceased by her parents Guissepe and Elsa (Machrin) Verardo, brother Morres Verardo, and sister-in-law Margaret Anne Goheen.

She will be sorely missed by her beloved dogs Georgie, Striker and Pippa, and her small flock of chickens.

Grace and Larry both grew up in west end Toronto, then moved to Oakville to raise their young family. Originally she followed one of her first passions working as a florist, then enjoyed a 25 year career as an insurance broker.

After moving to Perth, Grace found a special community of cherished friends and neighbors who warmly welcomed her and shared in her passions for gardening and fabric arts. She greatly enjoyed learning her latest passion of rug hooking from her friends and her crafting groups.

Grace was also an artist in the kitchen, both cooking and baking she adored trying new recipes and perfecting the family favourites.  A life journey in culinary adventures, she was a semi-professional chef with a keen palette and her joy came from cooking for others.

The family extends a heartfelt thank you to all the friends and neighbours that provided tremendous support during this difficult time.

Thank you to her nurses Kelly and Sarah for their compassion, understanding and support. Also, to all the doctors, nurses and staff at Perth Hospital.

Due to COVID regulations, a limited capacity service will be held in the chapel of the Blair & Son Funeral Home (Perth, Ontario) on Thursday, January 13th, 2022 at 2:30  P.M.

The family extends an invitation to everyone to join the service virtually using the following link  https://us02web.zoom.us/j/88064135888

Celebration of life and internment at Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery to be held later in 2022.
