Obituary of Rose Mary Coyne

Passed away peacefully at the Smiths Falls District Hospital on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at the age of 98.  Rose was the daughter of the late Vincent and Mary Ann (nee McCloskey) Coyne of Chesterville.  She was also predeceased by her siblings John, Leo, Harold, Brian, Clifford, Kevin and Arnold Coyne. Also predeceased by Lorraine (niece) and Patrick (nephew). She leaves behind her sister-in-law Irene Coyne (nee Stevens).  She will be deeply missed by the children of her niece Lynda (Gerry) Lomas, Adam and Rachel, who knew her more as a loving grandmother and doting great-grandmother to their children. Rose took great joy keeping in touch with all of her nieces, nephews, relatives and their families.

Rose was the head of Royal Trust Tax Department (Ottawa), a career she was quite proud of, which was then followed by her retirement years at her home on the Big Rideau Lake. She was an active member of the Rideau Lakes community and a steadfast lifelong friend to many.

There will be a gathering at Blair & Son Funeral Home, Smiths Falls on Saturday, April 23, 2022 from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.   A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. at St. Francis de Sales Church. Interment will take place at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
