Des always had a story to share and possessed a sense of humour like no other; his ever-presence will be sorely missed. He was community-minded, from his Fire Service days thru the Archdiocese connections to his travel escapades - Cuba will never be the same!

Des volunteered at the Railway Museum in Smiths Falls in the summer and early fall of 2021. He arrived with his truck and an eager spirit to help out in any capacity. Des shared kind words and wisdom. In a short time he made a difference to the Museum and to me. I regret that I didn’t get to know Des sooner. He has left a wonderful impression on me. Des will be missed.

Uncle Des - you will be greatly missed. From boat trips, always being behind the video camera, the best giftbags filled with funky towels, chocolate initals, and all kinds of school supplies when we were younger, to many many meals shared.
