McVicker, Phyllis Barbara (Purdon)
September 9, 1942 – April 7, 2022
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Phyllis on Thursday, April 7th, 2022 at the age of 79 years. She was the loving wife of Frank and cherished mother of Dan (Mailani) McVicker and Sue (Cronacher). Phyllis was the proud grandmother (“Ma”) to Erica, Nicholas, Jaedyn and Melody, beloved sister to Dave (Jewel) Purdon and predeceased by brother Bob (Linda surviving) Purdon. She was predeceased by her parents James and Mary (Duncan) Purdon and her mother-in-law and father-in-law Leo and Minerva (Millar) McVicker. Phyllis was the cherished Godmother to Charity Williams of Treasure Cay, Abaco Island, Bahamas.
Phyllis was born and raised in McDonald’s Corners. She graduated from teachers college and taught for several years before devoting her life to her husband and family. Phyllis enjoyed many winters in the Bahamas, many adventures in the motorhome, travelling to music festivals and making new friends. She will always be remembered for her kindness and she treasured many lifelong friendships.
Family and friends are invited to a graveside service of committal in Crawford Cemetery, McDonald’s Corners on Saturday, May 7th, 2022 at 2:30 P.M.
In remembrance of Phyllis, contributions to Knox Presbyterian Church, McDonalds Corners or the Salvation Army would be appreciated.
