Obituary of Ruth Eleanor Brown

Ruth Brown – Peebles passed away peacefully in Kingston, Thursday, April 21, 2022. Loving wife of and predeceased by John (Jack) Peebles in 1975 and Roy Brown in 1983. Dear mother to Philip (Sue) Peebles and Jason (Leisa) Peebles and fond grandmother to Mackenzie (Chris), Andrew (Bobby-Jo), Margaret (Nick), Nicholas (Carlee), Griffin, Gabrielle and Kristopher. Proud great-grandmother (GG) of Callum, Halle, Emma, Austin, Jack and Gracy. Cherished aunt of Kathryn (Daniel) Doyle, Heather Wallace and Elaine (David) Yasui and sister-in-law to Donald (Irene) Peebles and aunt to Dana (Lindsey) and Eric (Kirsten) Peebles. She will be sincerely missed by her great nieces, nephews and friends.

Ruth was predeceased by her dear sister Joyce (Bill) Brunton in 2013, her parents Willis “Bill” and Martha (Condie) Thompson and siblings Phyllis, Grace and Allan. Ruth was a graduate of the Brockville General Hospital School of Nursing and had a long career as an RN at the Smiths Falls Public Hospital and in the Pharmacy at the Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital.

The family would like to send a special thank you to Dr. G. Hendry and the staff at Van Horne Manor for their professional care and kindness. Ruth was a lady who dearly loved her family and friends, dogs of all kinds – even if they ate the occasional shower curtain – shopping and trips to the casino. A life well lived. A private service for family and friends will be arranged at a later date.  Memorial donations may be made to the Perth & Smiths Falls District Hospital Foundation (Smiths Falls – Site).
