Obituary of Joan Catherine Taylor

Joan Catherine Taylor (nee Doyle)
June 4, 1932  -  June 25, 2022

Joan passed away peacefully on Saturday June 25th at the age of 90 with the love of her family in her heart. She was predeceased by her devoted husband Carl Taylor, her parents Loretta and James Doyle, brother Pat, and sister Mary Boutilier.

Joan was the "best-mother-ever" to Don (Lida), Diane (John) Smiley, Doug (Colleen), Donna, Cathy (Harry) Fergusson, Nancy (Anthony) Corriveau, and Lori McParland. Loving grandmother to Natalie (Andrew), Andra (Liam), Connor, Mitchell, Grant, Katrina, Mackenzie, Alex, Andrew, David,
Christopher, Amanda, and Scott. Proud great-grandmother to Grace and Emily. Joan was the "bossy" and cherished sister of Ann Dore and Rita Reid. Joan will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, and her dear friend Beulah.

Joan will be remembered by many in the Perth community as an active participant in her church,
a dedicated elementary teacher, an avid walker, a voracious reader, a blue ribbon pie maker, a regular
at Peter's, and an enthusiastic lover of all flavours of ice cream.  But most of all she was our Mom, our everything. "Our North, our South, our East, and West."  She leaves each of us strengthened by her  devotion to family, faith in God, and kindness and respect for everyone. She has earned her eternal dance in heaven in Carl's arms, her best guy, to the tune of Crystal Chandelier.

The family would like to thank the staff at Carolina Courts for their expert help in caring for her during the last four years.

Visitation will be held at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, 15 Gore Street, Perth on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Perth on Thursday, June 30, 2022 at 10 am. Followed by interment in St. John's Parish Cemetery. In remembrance, contributions to St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish, 38 Wilson Street, Perth or the Perth & Smiths Falls District Hospital Foundation would be appreciated. Arrangements are in the care of Blair & Son Funeral Directors, Perth.
