Dear Faye and family, we weep with you. Your sorrow, though deep, is tempered knowing he is with the Lord and free from further suffering. But we all so feel the loss: his sound ministry, cheer and encouragement will not be forgotten. So too, we are grateful for your "behind the scenes” ministration to Jim that enabled him to be the blessing he was. We pray for the Lord’s comfort to you in this time of grief.

The office staff at Trinitarian Bible Society posted a condolence
Dear Faye and family,
Sending our most heartfelt condolences to you. The Society has been working with Jim (as well as Walter VanHolstyn before he was taken home) since the early 2000's when he would come in to gather Bibles and other Scripture materials to send to the Caribbean for Gospel Literature Supply. Once, when we discontinued a certain style of Bible that withstood the high humidity of the tropics, Jim was disappointed and requested that we bring it back in print, which we did and unofficially called it the "Jim Hyland Bible." (It was the KJV with a flexible vinyl cover). The staff and volunteers in the office always looked forward to Jim's "shopping" visits, when he would spend the day in our warehouse and we would enjoy lunch together to catch-up on his labor of love: the distribution of the Word of God. One of the most recent adventures he related was a trip to a remote village in Guyana. It is a blessing to know that though Jim is with the Lord, his work will continue. May the Lord uphold you and comfort you during this time.
With Christian love, Marnie Linna, Darci VanderBoon, Bill Greendyk, Ron Klaasen and Henry Kaiser at Trinitarian Bible Society.

Dear Faye, Kimberly, Amy and extended family: My memories of time together go back many, many years to when the girls were little and Jim still owned the fire prevention business. Life seemed endless in those days, with skating on the canal, good talks and laughs, your visits to San Diego, and meeting up in Newfoundland. But time has a way of marching on and God's call went out to Jim to be a help among HIS people. He was a tremendous help and will be sorely missed as he traveled the globe and encouraged the Lord's people to walk in "the path of faith and service." Faye, many hugs to you and how I wish I could be with you today and tomorrow as you say your final good-byes. But my heart and soul are with you and know that soon we will all stand together before the One Who is indeed worthy of our praise. Love to all of you...

Dearest Faye, Kim and Amy,
Our thoughts are with you today as you say farewell to Jim. We have so many memories of your visits here in Bermuda and we can still hear Jim’s infectious laughter! Faye, you were such a supportive wife. Kim and Amy, you were always on his heart.
As life goes back to your "new normal”, the tears will come and you will surely feel the void. That is the time to lean hard on our precious Lord: the One Who loves you and Who loved Jim enough to call him home. Take comfort in knowing that he is safely in the arms of his loving Saviour and Lord, Jesus Christ - no more suffering , no more pain! Rejoice in the fact that you will see him again in glory.
Our love and blessings to all of you.
Lance and Margo

To dear Faye, and Kimberly and Amy, We are praying for you all in this time of sorrow, yet a time of joy for dear Jim(your husband and father). We know he will be missed much. We have sweet memories of your(and sometimes just his) visits with us when we lived in PA, and also times you were at the Jenkins when we were. May the Lord comfort your hearts, and may you know HE is always with you and will NEVER leave you nor forsake you. "Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. 2 Corinthians 1:3 & 4 Our hearts are with you. With much love, and looking forward to HIS coming, Carol & Jeff B.
