Obituary of Jill Fournier

Jill passed peacefully at the Smiths Falls Hospital surrounded by family, on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at the age of 90. Predeceased by her loving husband Jack (2004). Cherished mother to Steve (Stephanie), Greg (Judy), Brock (Susan), and Andrea (Deb). Beloved grandmother of Adrienne (Dan), Brock, Doug (Katie), Bruce (Stephanie), Caroline (Joel), Laura (Joel), Maria, and Rob (Tali). Dedicated great-grandmother of Samuel, Thomas, Arnie, Lauren, Alice, Nathalie, Rose, Myles, Harrison, and Evelyn. Predeceased by parents Clifford and Margaret Wayne McGillivray, as well as her sister Adella Watson. Jill was a long time member of the Smiths Falls Curling Club, Carpet Bowling, Bridge Club, and Club 55. She enjoyed sports including cross-country skiing and swimming. She was a life-time member of Trinity United Church. Time at the cottage on the Rideau, with her family and friends, created some of her best memories. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. McGregor, Dr. Whalen, Dr. Ryan, the nursing and other staff at the Smiths Falls site of the Perth & Smiths Falls District Hospital, and all of the Bayshore home care staff. Friends and family may pay their respects on Friday, October 14, from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, 112 Beckwith Street North, Smiths Falls. Funeral service will follow at Trinity United Church, 41 Market Street North, Smiths Falls at 11:00 a.m. Private interment, Maple Vale Cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to LAWS (Lanark Animal Welfare Society), Trinity United Church Smiths Falls or the Smiths Falls Salvation Army.
