Obituary of Mary Elizabeth Hennigar

Mary passed peacefully at the Perth Hospital surrounded by her family on Monday, October 10, 2022 at the age of 83.  Beloved wife of 63 years to Eric Hennigar.  Predeceased by sister Jacqueline Dixon (John) and parents John (Jack) and Doris Sterling (née Swerdfager).  Loving sister to John Sterling (Alice) and Norman Sterling (Joan). Dedicated mother to Tim Hennigar (Nicole) and Dale Hennigar (Jo Ann).  Beloved grandmother to Erikka Hennigar (Luc), Jordie Hennigar (Nathan) and Ryan Hennigar (Kymberlie).  Dedicated great-grandmother of Luna, Ella, Rain and Mads.  Fondly remembered by Janet Sterling and sadly missed by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and many friends.  She will also be sadly missed by friends and neighbours from Crystal Beach.  

Mary enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family at her home on the Big Rideau and many summers spent at the family cottage in Norway Bay, Quebec. 

The family would like to give special thanks to doctors and the nursing staff at the Perth site of the Perth & Smith Falls District Hospital.  

There will be a funeral service in the chapel of the Blair & Son Funeral Home, 15 Gore St. W., Perth on Wednesday, October 19th at 1:30 pm followed by a reception in the Blair & Son Family Centre.  There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.  

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Perth site of the Perth & Smiths Falls District Hospital.
