Obituary of Carol Elizabeth Fraser

FRASER, Carol Elizabeth 

In hospital, in Perth, on Monday, November 21, 2022, Carol Elizabeth Fraser, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away after a three year courageous journey with cancer. She was seventy-nine. Carol was born in Kingston, Ontario on April 27, 1943. She was a loved daughter of Arthur and Frances Leckie of Kingston. A cherished Wife to John Fraser who passed away November 24th 2009. She will be profoundly missed by her loving son, Michael (Angely) Fraser of Hastings and her treasured daughter Lori Berketa of Kanata. A dear grandmother to Clarissa, Hayley, Matthew, and Brenton.

Carol was a helper by heart, by working in Nursing in Ottawa hospitals and nursing homes. She was a foster parent to 29 grateful children and helped with community child care. She volunteered in hospice, palliative care and several other departments throughout Perth Hospital. She also volunteered extensively through the Lanark County support. With a lot of love, Carol quilted and crocheted countless baby blankets to give to the Kingston general hospital maternity department. 

Music was key in Carol's life, singing in a local group named Over the Hill. To say that Carol was the perfect example of giving would still be an understatement. She touched so many people near and far, and that will not be forgotten. The family sends their thanks to Dr. Drummond and the staff of the Perth Hospital for their care and compassion.

A Celebration of Life will take place at Blair and Son Funeral home, 15 Gore Street West on Sunday January 15th, 2023 from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M.

In Lieu of flowers, donations to the Perth and Smiths falls District Hospital Foundation would be appreciated in Carol’s Memory.
