Ann, Pat, Yvonne and Jeannette, what a shock I had when I read Jack's obituary. Although it has been a few years since we have been in contact it brought back many memories of Jack and my adventures and misadventures. It also brought back memories of both the Cass and Pilon families. Jack will be missed by all and you have my sincere sympathies.

I had the privilege of teaching carpentry with Jack in the late 90's at Algonquin. Jack demonstrated all the attributes of a great, natural teacher. He was so enjoyable to listen to, a vast pool of carpentry knowledge and a warm, positive man.
I'm grateful to have known Jack and am very sorry to the Pilon family for your loss.

Jack was teaching at Algonquin College when I was a student in the Heritage Carpentry program. He was familiar with my family and we hit it off sharing hunting stories. We had many hobbies and interests in common and were able to keep in touch over years. During my apprenticeship, Jack invited me over for a visit, in which he handed down carpentry texts and books he had remaining from his years as a carpenter. A memory I have never forgotten. Jack was a wonderful and generous man.

Hello Ann,
Very sorry to hear about Jack. I had more laughs with him than anyone I have ever known. I don't know how I would have survived my first few years of teaching at Algonquin without his guidance, support and humor. He was an inspiration to so many students and fellow teachers. I will always be thankful to Jack.

To Ann, Pat, Jannette and Yvonne You had the greatest Husband/brother that a wife/ sister could ever ask for. We went to Smith Falls to watch him play hockey. He was very strict that NO BIYS got near his sisters. I was there when he married Ann and cried because we LOVED him so much, even though he was my first cousin. We cousins all looked up to him, looking at the old pictures, sure back great memories. Aunt Cecile and Uncle Vince were my Godparents and we saw them a lot when they lived in Smith Falls. And when I married my second husband, who is a Licensed Carpenter, guess who taught him at Algonquin? Jackie, was a wonderful guy and a great instructor.
