Dear Jean and Mike and Family,
I had the sincere pleasure of knowing both Frances and Don through my in-laws and their childhood memories. And as fate would have it, I had the pleasure of working for Don on a couple of occasions in my career. Throughout it all, Frances was always at the forefront of most discussions. Their combined passion for family, friends and community are a footprint to be emulated by all, and for many us, a warm and welcomed influence everywhere they went.
Reconnecting after coming back to this area was a real treat. Frances always gave of herself routinely well beyond what most of us will ever know. I recall most vividly giving a talk at a large gathering at the Legion in Perth where I revealed much of myself and the effects of my injuries sustained while serving in the Forces. I also recall mentioning her and Don in my remarks and could not have been more comforted when she got up at the end of my talk and stood in the aisle to greet me with a warm hug as I stepped away from the podium. A true symbol of her connection to everyone and completely in character of demonstrating empathy and compassion always.
I know your loss is a huge source of heartbreak, but you have incredible loving memories that will cause you to reflect and feel her love all the days to come.
My most sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathy to all the McNaughton Family.
