Obituary of Winston George Henry Porter

Passed away peacefully at Lanark Lodge in Perth on Monday, February 13, 2023 at the age of 81.  Winston is survived by his sister Lois (the late Edwin) Thomas of Calgary (formerly Ottawa) and his brother-in-law Fred Shipman of Ottawa.  He is predeceased by his siblings Leita Shipman of Ottawa, Adeline (Jim) Bennett of Smiths Falls, Clarence (Peggy) of Smiths Falls and Raymond (Maud) of Smiths Falls.  He was also predeceased by his parents William Harold and Etta (nee Lewis) Porter.  Winston will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and his entire extended family. Winston’s family would like to extend special thanks to all of the doctors, nursing and caring staff members at Lanark Lodge, for their exceptional care of Winston during his time living there. There will be a gathering taking place at Blair & Son Funeral Home, Smiths Falls on Friday, May 5, 2023 from 1 p.m. until the time of his Celebration of Life taking place in the chapel at 3 o'clock.  Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.  If desired, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
