Obituary of Rene Tompkins

Peacefully with her family by her side, on Thursday, February 16, 2023, Irene (Rene) Smith in her 100^th year, predeceased by her loving husband of over 70 years Stanley J. Tompkins. Loved and respected mother of Heather (Stan) Blair, and Mary (Ron) Kishi. Cherished grandmother of Stephen Blair, Andrew Blair (Dorian Anderson), Scott Blair (Sarah Kilpatrick), Diane Sepa-Kishi (Peit Sepa), and Matthew Kishi (Devyn Koczan). Rene was especially proud of her four great-grandchildren Brynn Blair, Nora Blair, Ella Blair, and Aleksander Sepa-Kishi. Predeceased by her brother Malcolm Bruce Smith. Rene is survived by her sister-in-law Anna Smith. Rene and Stan moved to Perth in 1983 to be closer to family, and enjoyed many years of golf, bridge games, and formed many special friendships. Friends may pay their respects at the Blair & Son Funeral Home 15 Gore St West, Perth from 2- 5 p.m. Monday February 20. A service to give thanks and celebrate Rene’s life will be held in the Chapel on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. Interment: Rideau Ferry Cemetery. In remembrance, donations to Cystic Fibrosis Canada would be appreciated. We would like to thank the PSW’s and nurses who cared for Rene over the last few months.
