Obituary of Claudette Helene Wright
Claudette passed away peacefully in Perth on Monday March 27th, 2023 at the age of 83 years.
Born in Montreal, Claudette was the daughter of the late Laurent and Simone (Perrault) David. Claudette was predeceased by her husband Norman, sister in law Sue (late Bob) Nichols. She will be sadly missed by her beloved children Jim (Cindy), Gerry (Kris), and Deborah (Terry) Dodds; sister Lisette (late Jean-Claude) David, sister-in-law Sharon (late Terry) Wright; and her grandchildren Jesse, Nikii, Bryce, Max, and Madi. She will be fondly remembered by nieces and nephews Dominique, Josiane, Tim, Joe, and Bill, as well as her many good friends and former students.
After moving to Perth in 1974, Claudette became known affectionally as Madame Wright to the many students she taught French to at Maple Grove School in Lanark, Stewart and Queen Elizabeth Schools in Perth, as well as at the Perth & District Collegiate Institute. Claudette also worked for years at the Board of Education office in Perth.
A lover of bridge and music, Claudette will be remembered by her bridge partners for the many laughs and games they shared, as well as for her renditions of La Vie En Rose.
Claudette’s family would like to send out special thanks and appreciation to the second-floor nursing staff at the Perth campus of the Great War Memorial Hospital for their wonderful prayers, kindness, and care. Thanks also to Wanda, Josie, and Carol for taking such good care of Claudette at home.
