Pieter was an inspiration to me as a young artist when he’d invited me to do some occasional work with him at the Rideau Regional centre to help broaden my art sense. We did tile work, collage, and painting with the patients. Also, sometimes I’d go to his modeling workshops at the farm…As a child growing up as an artist, he was just the right kind of person to receive encouragement from. I’m so glad my parents, Jean Paul and Aline Robert met them in 1957 when they’d come to Smiths Falls, where they were neighbors. Giant virtual hugs to you Pieter while you’re in the beyond, and especially to your grieving family XOXOXO
