Bowes, Overton Clinton
Suddenly at home, with his loving wife by his side, Overton passed away on Sunday, April 16th, 2023 at the age of 78. He is now reunited in eternity with his beloved fur companion Fisher, and his parents George and Olive (nee Delarge) Bowes. Overton will be sadly missed by his wife Mary (nee Milotte), and by his daughter Marka (Rick). He was the stepfather of Chris (Laurie) and Tanya (Rod), the dear grandfather of Aidan, Audrina, Rebeca, Carter, and Jeremy and great-grandfather of Ryker and Findley. Overton will be fondly remembered by his dear friends Lee (Ava) Larkin and John (Glenda) Strudwick, and by his mother-in-law Margaret Milotte. He leaves behind his half-siblings Brian, Heather, Nancy, and Melody. He was predeceased by his half-siblings Marlene and Kenny. Overton will never be forgotten by Mary’s extended family, his many cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, and co-workers. Overton worked as an Elevator Mechanic in Ottawa for over 35 years, on many buildings and shopping centers across the valley and was a long-standing member of the International Union of Elevator Constructors Local 96, Ottawa. His passions were fishing and hunting, both he did at every opportunity granted.
A celebration of Overton’s life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 395, Lanark on Monday, May 8th, 2023 from 12:00 noon until 4:00 P.M. In remembrance of him, memorial contributions to the Perth & Smiths Falls District Hospital Foundation – Perth Site, would be greatly appreciated. Arrangements are in the care of Blair & Son Funeral Home, Perth.
