It’s with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Kathleen Ida Best (nee Saunders) on May 11, 2023 at Lanark Lodge in Perth, ON. Kaye was in her 90th year and was predeceased by her husband, Ira Best. She was the loving mother of David (Nancy) Mantle, Don (Laura) Mantle, Diane Mantle, Deb (Ian) Cooper and Denise (Kingsley) Grant. Predeceased by son, Dean Mantle.  Special grandmother to Allyson (Chad) Bagnell, Aaron (Erin Storey) Mantle, April (Brad Henderson) Mantle, Jeremy(Ashley) Mantle, Jenna (Asan) Asongwed, Dean (Marcus) MacLeod, Justin Cooper, Hunter (Jade) Grant and Walker (Jordie Peters) Grant. Great Grandmother to Clare (Weston Crawford) Bagnell, Connor Bagnell, Nora Mantle, Naydean Mantle, Ava Mantle, Levi Mantle, Adelynn Henderson, Bryce Henderson, Noah MacLeod, Ozias Asongwed and Asher Asongwed. Cherished sister to Thelma McParlan. Predeceased by brothers Gord, Bill, Gib, Glen, Doug, Jim Saunders and sisters Mid Trodden, Helen Fleming, Eleanor Swenson, Lois Lawson and parents Thomas and Olive Saunders.

We would like to thank all of the staff at Lanark Lodge for taking such good care of Mom. She loved being there with her sister Thelma. It made her final days extra special. A celebration of life will take place at a later date. Arrangements are in the care of Blair & Son Funeral Directors, Perth.
