Obituary of Jean Dennise True

Passed suddenly on May 22, 2023 at her home in Smiths Falls at the age of 50 years. Jean was predeceased by her parents Garland Taylor and Rosemary True, as well as by her Grandpa Norman True. Jean leaves behind her brother Michael Taylor, her husband Edward Anderson, her cousin Mattie True, her best friend in Smiths Falls Alice Keir, her neighbour Julie Chaput-Pepper, as well as her online friends Jean McLain, Sheila Holt, Alison Newton, Linda Watt, Chaya Miriam Weisman, Kelly White Miller, Angie Raddatz, Ricky Teal, Christina Layton Esteves, Theresa D. Smith, and Philip Martin. She will be fondly remembered by all her friends who loved her, both near and far. Jean had many loves; nature, animals (goats and cats being her favourite), singing along to karaoke, helping people where she could, and spreading kindness everywhere she went. Jean was a published poet; her nom de plume was “Open Arms”, a name given to her by God in a dream. Jean always wanted to make other people feel safe, loved, and important.  Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at the Blair & Son Funeral Home (112 Beckwith St. N., Smiths Falls) on Tuesday June 13, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the Chapel at 1:00 p.m.

For those unable to attend in person, a livestream of the service will take place starting at 12:45 p.m. on June 13, 2023 and will be accessible through Jean’s obituary page on the Blair & Son website directly below this obituary.
