Obituary of Douglas Michael Buckland
Buckland, Douglas Michael (1948-2023)
Doug passed away June 17th, 2023, peacefully after a brief illness and with his family at his side at the GWM Perth Hospital Site, Ontario. He will be forever loved and missed by his wife and best friend of over 45 years, Josie Buckland.
Doug was the ‘Number One Fan’, loving and always proud father of his daughter Patricia (James) Pole and his son Alexander (Sarah) Buckland. Proud Grandad to Gillian, Madelyn and Kenzie.
He was predeceased by his parents Frederick and Lousia Buckland and his sister Barbara Beaupre. Doug is survived by his brother Arthur (Jan) Buckland and sister Cathy Vallieres. Remembered by his brothers-in-law David Nickerson, Chris (Maria), John (Joanne) and Michael (Lisa Griggs) MacCormac. He will also be remembered by many nieces, nephews and his life long friends.
Doug enjoyed a very successful 35 year career at Statistics Canada where he and Josie met and embarked on a wonderful journey together.
A celebration of life will be held on July 15th, 2023 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 244, 26 Beckwith Street East, Perth, Ontario.
