Obituary of Leita Florence Kerfoot
Passed peacefully with family by her side on July 1, 2023 in Smiths Falls at the age of 96 years. Predeceased by her parents Harry and Florence Cross (nee Baker); her beloved husband and best friend Clarence Roy “C.R” Kerfoot; her siblings Lloyd, John “Jack”, Glenn “Ted”, Lorraine “Freda” Mayhew, and Larry; her siblings by marriage Reta Warwick (Joe), Ken Brown, Jack Kerfoot (Violet), Art Powers, George Kelly, Ruth Cameron (Jack), Joyce Miles (Len), Stan Kerfoot (Norma), Bob Kerfoot, Arnold Kerfoot (June), and Bill Kerfoot. Leita is survived by her loving children Wayne (Gayle), Rick (Judy), Dale (Mary Jayne), and Lisa (Tim); she will be forever cherished by her beloved grandchildren Kim (Kurt), Kathleen (Rob), Kristopher (Erin), Matthew (Chelsea), Bradley (Sarka), Kristy, Cassandra, Cole, Amanda (Devon), Lindsay (Darren), Brittany (Kacey); and her adored great-grandchildren Oakley, Oxford, Odessa, Keegan, Dakota, Ella, Scarlett, Aria, Raelynn, Dexynn, Karson, Kaiden, Brantley, Willow and Cohen. She will be lovingly remembered by her sisters and brothers-in-law Mary, Barb, Lois Brown, Lila Powers, Don Mayhew, Marilyn Kelly, Jean Kerfoot, and Della Kerfoot. Leita loved and cherished her family; she was very proud of them all and enjoyed watching her family grow through the years. She spent over 30 years as a counsellor with Rideau Regional Centre, a career she took great pride in. Friends and family may pay their respects at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, Smiths Falls (112 Beckwith St. N.) on Thursday July 6, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at St. John’s Anglican Church in Smiths Falls (2 George St. S.) on Friday July 7, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Hillcrest Cemetery (3540 Hwy 43 W). A reception will follow at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 95 in Smiths Falls. If desired, memorial donations may be made to either St. John’s Anglican Church or to the Smiths Falls Royal Canadian Legion Branch 95 in Leita’s memory.
