Rayburn (Birdie to family and friends) passed away peacefully with his family by his side, June 29, 2023, at the Perth site of the Perth and Smith Falls Hospital at the age of 73. He was the loving partner of Darleen Sargeant and adored father of Chad Storie and Amber (late Robb) Scott. He was the cherished Papa of Bryce, Ty, Jack, Nash Storie and Charlie Scott. Rayburn was predeceased by his father and mother Wallace Storie and Annie (MacLean) Storie. He was the brother of the late Marlene (late Doug) Cordick, John (Grace) Storie, late Eunice (Gary) Munro, Lorna (late Russell) Deachman, Sharon Cooper (Earl Donaldson), Donnie (late Judy) Storie, Rodney (Denise McNamee) and late Keith (Janet) Storie. Rayburn will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, friends and the Sargeant/Echlin families.
Rayburn retired from Hydro One. He loved to hunt, fish and golf and made sure his grandsons experienced all the things he loved to do. He was a fan of the Chicago Black Hawks and the Toronto Blue Jays. He was a long time member of the former Lanark Trap Club and a member of the Lanark Legion. Rayburn always enjoyed a good time with family and friends.
Friends may pay their respects at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, 15 Gore St. W., Perth Thursday July 6th, 2023 from 3:00 to 5:00 P.M. and 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Funeral service will be held in St. Andrews United Church, Lanark Friday July 7th, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. Interment, Pinehurst Cemetery, Playfairville. A reception will follow at Lanark Legion Branch 395.
In remembrance of Rayburn, those wishing are asked to consider memorial donations to the Perth & Smiths Falls District Hospital (Perth site), the Heart & Stroke foundation or the Lanark Legion Branch 395.
