Obituary of George Douglas Lucas
George passed away peacefully at home in Carleton Place, surrounded by family and friends on July 10, 2023 at the age of 73. He has gone on to be with his one true love, the late Mary Lucas (Taman), whom he was married to for over 50 years. He will be greatly missed by his children Christopher Lucas and his wife Lori of Courtice, ON, Lesley MacIsaac and her husband Dave of Carleton Place, ON. George leaves behind his cherished grandchildren Matthew, Madison and Tyler Lucas, Andrea (Kyle), Emma, Brayden and Jacob MacIsaac; his siblings Dodie (Pat) Longpre, Joanne Lucas and Chuck Lucas. He will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and greatly missed by his good friends Rohana and Samanthi Marakawatte. The family would like to give a very special thank you to Nurse Practitioner Jacqueline Kirkland of Connectwell Lanark for all her assistance and support. Also, a big thank you to all the staff of the 2nd floor at the Perth Hospital for everything over the last few months, and the medical oncology day unit staff who were absolutely amazing with him.
In honour of George, memorial contributions to the Dave Smith Youth Treatment Centre would be greatly appreciated. Arrangements are in the care of Blair & Son Funeral Home, Perth.
