Legari, Eunice Christina
Eunice Christina Legari, nee Pearson, was born in Ottawa, Ontario to Pearl Ivy (nee Bach) and Allen Robert Pearson on September 8th,1938. Eunice was the youngest of five children: Keith (Ora), Richard, Gerald (Marjorie), and Barbara (Lorne). She and her husband, Joseph Peter Legari (Joe), met on a blind date at the High School of Commerce, were high school sweethearts, and later married on July 14 th , 1962. They happily started a family, and had three wonderful children: Dara (Gord Bell), Dawn and Todd. Joe’s career had them moving throughout Ontario, eventually settling back in Ottawa where they both became entrepreneurs owning two small businesses, remaining in Ottawa until semi-retirement/retirement, when they settled into Port Elmsley, Ontario. They had many happy times cottaging and golfing in the Perth area (Little Silver Lake/Port Elmsley). Eunice and Joe were blessed with seven grandchildren: Emily and Hannah (Dara/Gord), Jack and Kate (Dawn), and Lindsay, Sidney and Andrew (Todd), as well as many loving nieces and nephews. Eunie (as she was affectionately known) was an exceptional homemaker, cook, and creator. A gentle and kind soul, she surrounded herself with beauty and loved nature, with a particular passion for gardening. Eunie navigated her life with grace, fortitude, strength, and dignity, caring for so many, and giving selflessly. The family wishes to sincerely thank the amazing second floor medical staff at the Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital (Perth Hospital division) for their very caring support.
