Jeff, Ceilidh, Dougie, and Lynne,
I continue to be saddened by this news and my heartfelt condolences go out to you all. Doug’s presence was memorable. I say this because I only actually connected with him directly a small number of times over the number of years that you and I have been friends, Jeff. However, his distinct calmness and voice have made a lasting impression on me. He was quick with his wit (often at mine or other friends’ expense, especially when it came to golf) but his genuine nature was always comforting. He was the type of person that you could pick up conversation with regardless of how much time had passed since you last connected. Doug helped to raise an awesome son, partner, and father. I’m grateful to have met him, and for your friendship, Jeff. I know you will find some solace in the memories and I wish each of you healing and comfort.
