Obituary of Heather Anne Vaughan

It is with great sadness and shock for the family to announce the passing of Heather Anne Vaughan (nee Burnside) on December 1, 2023 in Ottawa at the age of 82. Heather was the beloved wife of Allan Harvey Vaughan for over 62 years; a loving mother to her children Vicki Lynn Vaughan, Steven Allan Vaughan (Angela), and Robert Scott Vaughan (Lisa); as well as to her grandchildren Crystal, Greg Evoy (Nicole), Connor (Amelie Demers), Gabrielle, Andrew and great-grandchildren  Logan, Elora, Brennan, Rowan, and Ryder. Heather was predeceased by her parents Frederick and Winona Burnside (nee Scott), as well as her sister and brother-in-law Connie and Warren Newton. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Perth & Smiths Falls District Hospitals, the Ottawa Civic Hospital, and the county paramedics who showed great compassion and care for Heather. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, Smiths Falls (112 Beckwith St N) on Thursday December 7, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the chapel at 12:30 p.m. Interment will take place at Hillcrest Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Blair & Son Reception Centre. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Perth & Smiths Falls District Hospital Foundation for the MRI Fund would be greatly appreciated by the family.
