Obituary of Robert Roy MacFarlane
Passed peacefully on December 3rd, 2023 in his 100th year at Rosebridge Manor in Easton’s Corners. Robert was born in McKillop Township in Southwestern Ontario. Beloved husband and best friend for more than 72 years of Ethel MacFarlane (nee Wilson). He is predeceased by his parents David George and Jennie Stuart MacFarlane (nee Somerville), wife Ethel, daughters Jeannie and Peggy MacFarlane, granddaughter Brittany, as well as by his siblings John, George, Gordon, Lloyd, Elizabeth, and Jean, as well as his brother-in-law Alan Thompson and sister-in-law Marion Lefleck (nee Wark). Loving and devoted father of Joan Kuchta, Diane MacFarlane, John MacFarlane, and Bob (Lecia) MacFarlane. Cherished grandfather of David (Jaime), Bob Jr. (Sara), Joshua (Kelly), Matt (Candace), Katie (Graham), Brian (Alana), Ben (Karelyn), Ethan (Ashley), and Jared. He was the proud great-grandfather of Sammy, Riley, Joey, Emma, Mason, Parker, Henry, Hannah, Emery, Eli, Brysyn, Cameron, Daniel, Finnigan, Maive, Desmond, and Jayce. He leaves behind to mourn his many nieces and nephews; the Thompson Family: Fran (Joaquin), Alan (Carol Brown), Jean (Don McIntyre), Bruce (Karen Wilson), Stewart (Ann Gamble), Helen (Chuck White), Marilyn, Mary, Dorothy (Kim Legassic), Kenny, and Ronnie (Jennifer Lindsay); the MacFarlane Family: Katie (Bill Davies), and Nancy (Brian Stead). Friends wishing to pay their respects will be received at the Blair & Son Funeral Home (112 Beckwith St. N., Smiths Falls) on Friday December 8, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. A reception will immediately follow the service. Interment will be held in the spring at Auld Kirk Cemetery, Almonte. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Smiths Falls Assemblies of God Church (54 William St W, Smiths Falls).
