My wife and I just found out with great sorrow about the passing of our dear friend Ray Thomas this last December and want to extend our sincere condolences to his entire family. We worked with Ray in and out over the years at Bowmar Canada, BNR, Nortel, Mitel, JDSU and have great memories. Ray always was highly regarded by management, respected and loved by his staff everywhere he was. I frequently was on the road with Ray while at Mitel and we spent much time together. One of the best people manager and expert in his domain I ever knew. Also a great dart player & golfer. We will sorely miss him. May you rest in peace our friend Raymond, Pierre & Mimi Ribot

Rosa and I are saddened to hear of Ray's passing. We wish to extend our deepest condolances to Diane and the whole family. Golf will not be the same without Ray, he was a good golf bud and even a better friend. We will miss you Ray Big Hugs.

so very sorry to hear of Ray's passing.. my condolences to his family. I have many fond memories of Ray from our work days at Northern Electric, BNR and Nortel... a fun personality with a lot of joking is our spare time with Dick Morrison, Paul Ertl, and the late Wayne Gilmour. I enjoyed playing league pool and tipping a glass or two with Ray..

Sorry to hear of Ray's passing. My deepest condolences to all of the Thomas family. Ray was my boss at Nortel from around 1987 until the mid 90's ....great boss...even better friend.....had a great sense of humor...loved his family, golf, the odd wager/poker, and perhaps the odd glass of red wine.... A toast to you Ray....may you rest in peace.

I would like to express my sincere condolences to Ray’s family. I had the honour of working with Ray for many years at Nortel. As a colleague he was always very thoughtful and I will always remember how he’d come to my office if he was in the area to check to see how I was doing. With his years of experience and business acumen he often offered sound advice which I greatly appreciated especially when I was new to management. I was also grateful for his humour where he could lift a room and bring joy to the workplace. Sending you all my caring thoughts and prayers as you heal the loss of a great man. Rest in peace Ray.

I would like to offer my deepest condolences to Diane, Dave and the family at this difficult time. I had the privilege of knowing Ray for the past 38 years. I reported to Ray at Mitel to assist in the set up of the semi conductor test operations. This work relationship continued in the Opto division at Nortel. Ray has been a great friend and mentor over the years. His leadership and inspiration was instrumental in guiding his team to the success it achieved at work. He also always had sage advice or shared some memorable humor on the links. I will always treasure fond memories of playing golf with Ray and the friendly competition that we shared over many years on many courses. No matter the result Ray ensured we all ended in good spirits at the 19th hole! Wishing Ray's family peace and comfort.

My condolences to Ray’s family as well. I did not get to golf with Ray a lot but when I had the pleasure I could see many of the qualities he exhibited at work. I worked with Ray at Nortel for over 15 years and consider him an unsung hero in the success of Nortel fiber optic products. In the early days as a senior manager in Opto device mfg’g Ray inherited some incredibly low yielding products from the developers. Yet with his prior semiconductor experience, skill with numbers, determination and patience to work with employees at all levels we were able to deliver the components needed for Nortel’s success in fiber optic telecommunication. Even when close to retirement Ray stayed actively involved in the transfer of operations to the UK. Thanks for all the help and advice you gave me in those years Ray. May you rest in peace.

My sincerest condolences to Diane, Dave, and the entire family. I first met Ray about 35 years ago at the Mississippi Golf Club and went on to play golf with Ray every week for the next 30 years. We also worked together at Nortel. Ray was a joy to be with - always in a good mood, never once got angry or upset on the golf course (I wish I could say that), and drew people together. Ray will always be remembered as a class act and he shall be missed. Here is a pic from 2002 in Myrtle Beach...
