Bob passed away peacefully in Perth, Ontario on Monday, December 11, 2023. He leaves behind his wife Carol, daughter Jeanette, three sons Michael, Fred and Brett, five grandsons, Mitchell, Maerick, Morgan, Carson and Jaret, and a great-granddaughter, Charlie

He was born in Toronto on May 17, 1944 to Robert Waddell and Rosa Lockerbie. He was the oldest of three children. He joined the military at 17 and graduated from the Signal Corp in Kingston, Ontario. When he was 19 he was transferred to Calgary, Alberta. This is where he met his wife, the love of his life, Carol Olson. They were married in Toronto and raised four children. Bob joined the Metro Toronto Police where he worked for 20 years when he retired as a Sergeant Detective of homicide. He then took a position as Director of Security for National Trust for 20 years. After retiring from National Trust, Bob and his ex-partner and good friend, Jim, started a private investigation firm where they travelled the world providing security for international gold mine companies.

Some of Bob’s hobbies were home renovations, fishing, going to yard sales and selling his treasures on eBay.

Bob got sick with throat cancer in 2013 and eventually Alzheimer’s disease.

Services are private for the family, arrangements are in the care of Blair & Son Funeral Directors, Perth.
