Hi Warren & Family: I just heard the news from our mutual friend Jeff McNaughton. I'm not even sure you would remember me but we both lived in Twin Oaks II many years ago and we worked together and Rolph Clarke & Stone back in early 80-81 albeit for a very short time. I just realised(reading her obit) that Kathy's brother, Dave was a neighbour of mine on Pine Street when we lived in Smiths Falls, I never knew they were siblings. Anyhow, very sorry for your loss.
Sincere Condolences,
Doug Heffernan

To Warren, Byron, Amelia and families and extended family.
I was sorry to read about Kathy's death. I first met Kathy as a student at St Lawrence College in Brockville in the Nursing Program. I smile whenever I think of Kathy. I had contacted her a few times since Graduation and spoke with her on the phone, it was very apparent in our conversation how much she loved her husband and family I last saw her at one of our Nursing Class get togethers that we both attended. She never changed, except her hair, a lovable gal. May she always be close in heart and never far from mind and may the memories of the life and loved you shared as a family bring you comfort in the days ahead. Sincerely Dianne

Walter, Byron and Amelia and the Willoughby family. It's so sad that Kathy has left you/us. I remember Kathy with much fondness, even though as adults we didn't get together very often. There were Sunday afternoons on the front lawn of our farm, gatherings at Uncle Hubert's. Later we met mostly at weddings and funerals. I remember her telling me that she became a nurse largely because of the example of my Mom. That was so touching to me. May she rest in peace and may the memories you have of times with her bring you some measure of happiness.

I am a regular caller to the Garton household. Often during the last 26 years I would meet or speak with Kathy because Warren was out on one of his adventures. But with Kathy's blessing she would let Al, Dick and I have Warren for another week of snowmobiling. You will be missed Kathy. You are a GEM!

Kathy and I were student nurses together back in 1976. Kathy lived in residence. I did not. I drove her to school on Mondays and back home on Fridays so every Tuesday she fed me supper in her residence as we had a night class. She was super kind and funny. We had many a laugh and she was a good nurse. We didn’t see each other much over the years, but when we did it was like it was yesterday reminiscing. Rest in peace Kathy. Deepest sympathies to warren and families. Many memories of Kathy that bring smiles to my lips. My daughter went to elementary school with Byron and we went on school trips together. Then later she would visit and have many great conversations! She found a peacock pen which I will cherish and think of her. I loved her hugs and her love for life. Hugs to all her family and friends. She will be watching from the Heavens.

A precious friend of mine ! My favourite memory of Kathy was that she would easily get her patients to open right up for their medicine by promising then "a hug ". Kathy wasn't afraid of anyone ! She was so completely kind and caring . We had many great road trips in the last few years . She absolutely was besotted with her granddaughter. Family was everything to Kathy . I loved her spunk . Longtime friend from way back in the Rideau Regional days . RIP my lovely friend ox G
