Belated but sincere condolences to Keith’s family. Keith and I were near the same age and grew up in houses across the street from each other on Hall Avenue, Windsor Ontario. From the earliest age we played together, mostly outside, at least until the street lights came on. That was the rule for both our families. We were the best of buddies. We played pick-up games of baseball, soccer and football on empty lots with other kids who lived in the neighborhood on Hall, Pierre and Moy. We would ride our bikes out Walker road to near the airport where there was a large undeveloped, overgrown and treed field where we would build shelters and live out fantasies. As young teens we would spend hours just talking about anything and everything while walking the neighborhood or sitting on my small, open front porch or his large, closed-in front porch. I remember us often sitting in his dad’s car at night listening to Country Western Music on the car radio. By the time we reached High School our maturing interests (his practical, mine more academic) meant we spent less time together and after that time we literally went our own ways. In early July of 1960, while on my honeymoon travelling around Ontario Cottage Country, my wife and I managed to spend an afternoon with Keith at his cottage on Bear Lake. That was the last time I saw him. I am sad to learn he is gone but so pleased to hear some of the stories here of others whose lives were enriched by his presence

On behalf of the Faux family, I extend our most sincere condolences for the loss
of your father. Keith and my dad, Al Faux, taught together in the hallowed halls
of the tech dept at PDCI for many years. He was a great colleague and supporter
of the trades. I personally have fond memories of a canoe trip thru part of the
Mazinaw Loop that Keith took us on. My family and I went on to spend our
summer vacations there for many years.
So sorry for your loss.

I first met Mr Johnson in early 70’s when he taught me Auto Mechanics along with Al Fox at PDCI. He was a major influence in me becoming a Class A auto technician. He was always quiet easy going and very knowledgeable. Occasionally I would cross paths with him here in Perth and we would have a visit. RIP Mr Johnson. My condolences to the families.

My sincerest thoughts are with Keith's family. I have very fond memories of Keith's many years at Bear Lake as our family cottage was beside the Johnson's cottage. Keith and his dad were always available to help out my Mom. A few examples would include taking down the big pine in front of our cottage, enclosing the front porch with windows and getting the '54 Chevy back to the cottage after my brother broke the driveshaft while racing. If you needed to know where he was, there was a good chance that you could see him paddling his yellow canoe on the lake. Keith was easy to spot on the lake from great distance as he had a very smooth and unique paddling style. Keith will be missed.

In the early 1990's, my wife Linda & I had the privilege to paddle with Keith on several canoe trips including the Petawawa & Madawaska rivers. He was a skilled paddler & camper, and had an excellent eye for reading whitewater. I've attached an old photo of Norm Renals, Keith, myself & Mark Scissons as we were preparing for some spring paddling on a local river. I remember helping Keith with the PDCI outdoors club, often with their spring & fall camping trips. Keith had a great love of nature. I often wondered how he was keeping in retirement. I'm saddened to hear of his passing. Linda & I send our condolences to his family.

My thoughts and prayers are with Keith's family. I grew up with Keith and his sister Audrey in Windsor and at the Gilese Blvd Christian Chuch. I was lucky as a young teenager to go with Audrey to their cottage at Bear Lake. Great memories of Keith at the Lake and sometimes he and I would walk home from Kennedy High School when we came out of the door at the same time. Our Famlilies were close and had good times together.
Deepest Sympathies to Keith's family Kay (Topliffe0 and George Shelley

I remember paddling up the Tay river in my raft and passing Mr. Johnson coming the other way in his canoe. We exchanged pleasantries and nothing more. I don't know why that's such a significant memory, but it is. He taught me small engines, and I learned more than just mechanics, but respect, dignity, and humility. He was a great man who carried himself with a quiet dignity and a humble knowlege that he passed along without reservation or expectation. I have not seen him in over thirty years, and yet I miss him now that he's gone.

A very sincere condolence to Colleen and Doug, Shelley and Robert. We had known your Dad for many, many years at Bear Lake. Keith was always a gentleman and absolutely loved the cottage where he worked tirelessly! We enjoyed talking with him there on Reddam Drive and he expressed his delight in leaving the two cottage properties to you girls! He will be missed by many!
Sincerely,
Joan and Bob Douglas
