Cherished husband of his late wife, Mary Theresa (nee Brady) for 66 years. Loving father of Chris (Debbie) McGarry of Sunderland, John (Tracy) McGarry of Sudbury, Mary (Scott) McGarry-Mutton of Ottawa, and Jim (Sandra) McGarry of Bowmanville. Loving grandfather to Matthew, David, Nicole, Brian, Katelyn, Michael, Daniel and James and great-grandfather to Tommy, Lela, Jordan, Brady, Isabelle, Oliver, and Jaxon. Dear brother of Marion Gill (late Kenneth) and Francis McGarry (Janice) of Nova Scotia and brother-in-law of Gerald (late Virginia) of Vernon BC. Predeceased by his siblings Robert McGarry (Betty), Joan Darou (late Gordon), Claire Buckton (late Ab), David McGarry (Mary), and Margaret Labelle (late Gill) and by his sister-in-law Sister Sheila Brady, brother-in-law Donald Brady, and sister-in-law Jean Letang. Tom was born and raised in Perth, Ontario and upon marrying Theresa moved to North Bay where they raised their family. Tom’s career with Canadian Pacific Railway saw them make subsequent moves to Sudbury, Winnipeg, and Saskatoon. Tom retired in 1992 as CPR Superintendent, Saskatoon Division. Tom and Theresa settled into retirement in Kingston, Ontario where they resided for more than 30 years. Tom was blessed with a long career he truly loved. He will be remembered for his entertaining railway stories, stories of growing up in Perth, his yearly fishing trips up north with his sons and brother David, and his many trips to his daughter’s cottage near Westport, Ontario. Tom was a wonderful father and family provider and he will be greatly missed.
