JOHN "JACK" BAYLEY BOND
January 20, 1922-February 11, 2024

Nan, Michael & Cathy, John & Donna must now say good bye to their father, JOHN "JACK" BAYLEY BOND in his 103 year. Born in Toronto, the first of two children to Edith (nee Bayley) Bond and Harold O. Bond. Jack enjoyed a long and very productive life. He was raised in Toronto while also spending a number of summers on an uncle's farm out west. He joined the RCAF during the Second World War and served to protect our country and our freedom. On August 20, 1943 he married Margaret Evered and they started their family of four children. They took up residence in Toronto, then moved to Montreal back to Malton and finally Manotick, Ontario all at a time while Jack continued a very successful career in air traffic control. Here he provided direction and expertise to ensure Canadians and our guests would be safe as they enjoyed air travel in our air space. In his later years Jack never forgot how air travel molded his life as he took up flying model airplanes at his favorite airfield just outside of Perth Ontario. Of course his greatest love was boat trips on the Rideau River, be it in the many cruisers he called the Niakwa or the pontoon boats or runabouts he owned and cared for. In 2003 Dad moved to Perth Ontario, while here he remarried and continued to live until June of 2023. Jack was predeceased by his loving wife Margaret of 59 years, his mother and father Edith and Harold, his sister and her husband Doris and John Stevenson, his daughter Ellen Bond, his grandson John B Bond III, Nan's significant other Dave Mitchell and Dad's second wife Pearl Burbank Bond. Grandpa will be dearly missed and always cherished by his grandchildren Shana, Mike, Ryan and Luke Bond, and Brad and Mandy Payne and all their significant others, along with his 13 great grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff of Waterside Retirement Home in Carleton Place along with the staff from Bayshore Home Care for the wonderful care and attention they all provided during his final months with us. A private service and internment at Memorial Gardens in Manotick will be held at a later date still to be determined. Arrangements are in the care of Blair & Son Funeral Home, Perth. Rest in peace Jack.
