Obituary of Brian Gilbert Pratt

July 19, 1955 - February 22, 2024

After a lengthy battle, it is with heavy hearts that we announce on Thursday, February 22, 2024, Brian Gilbert Pratt of Maberly, in his 69th year peacefully passed away surrounded by the love of his family at the Perth Hospital.

Survived by the love of his life and his whole world, wife Sharon Caroline Pratt. Brian and Sharon were married on July 12, 1975, this year they would have celebrated their 49th anniversary. Forever missed and cherished by his children Pamela (Chris), Tanya (Chris), and Derek. The strong grandfather of Andrew Brimmell, Kaitlyn Granger, Taylor (Zack) Clark, Olivia Gemmill, Nicolas and Kierstin Johnson, and Britney and Corey Riopelle.  Baby brother to Wilmer Pratt, Victor (Barb) Pratt, Shirley (Willis) Sergeant, Gary (Anna) Pratt, and Elaine (Glen) Moore. Missed greatly by brother in-law Brian (Gail) Gemmill, sister in-law Nancy Gemmill, and brother in-law Dennis Gemmill (Darla). A special friend of Ronnie Gordon and George Young. Brian will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his loving parents Lloyd and Eva Pratt and father and mother in-law Alphonsus and Dorothy Gemmill.  Predeceased by siblings Doris (Ross) Irvine, Ronald (Helen) Pratt, Howard (Rosemary) Pratt, Robert (Patricia) Pratt, Verna Pratt Wood, sister in-law Pearl Pratt, and brother’s in-law Billy and Johnny Gemmill.

A special thank-you to Aunts Shirley and Elaine, Uncle Glen and cousin Dennis who provided guidance and held our hands at a time when we were in need. We would also like to thank our cousins Kim, Cindy and Norm for their love and support at the hospital. Thank-you to Shawn Doyle, who was like a grandson, not by blood but by love. Thank you to the nurses, Palliative Care, and especially Doctor James Simpson at the Perth Hospital for their compassionate care.

Donations in memory of Brian would be greatly appreciated to Lanark Animal Welfare Society (L.A.W.S) and the Great War Memorial Hospital - Perth site. Arrangements are being held privately and are in the care of Blair & Son Funeral Directors, Perth.
