Obituary of David Henry Orman
Orman, David Henry
David Henry Orman of Tay Valley, ON, passed away peacefully on March 7th, 2024. He is survived by his wife, sister, four children and three grandchildren, along with many friends, both here in Tay Valley and in the UK. He was 91 years old.
David grew up in the county of Kent, England. He did his National Service in the Royal Marines, married his first wife Ann and together they moved to Liverpool, Lancashire, England, where they raised their family. There, he held the position of accountant and executive assistant to the Bishop of Liverpool. Ever the community volunteer, he served as Lay Minister for many years and was a special constable with the Merseyside Police Force. Following his wife's death, he moved to Montreal, Quebec, where he married Ann's cousin and long-time friend Cynthia. The couple moved to Tay Valley in 1995, where they spent many happy years with their horses, llamas, dogs and cats. He continued his public service mission here, serving on the Board of the North Lanark Community Health Centre, now ConnectWell Community Health, and held the position of Chairman there for ten years. He was a Lay Minister at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Lombardy, Parish of the Rideau.
His friends will miss his upbeat personality, inspiring sermons, sense of humour and engaging stories, and that is how we will remember him best. In honour of David, memorial contributions to either L.A.W.S. or any animal charity or rescue of your choice would be greatly appreciated. Arrangements are in the care of Blair & Son Funeral Directors, Perth.
