Obituary of Graeme McTavish

McTavish, R. Graeme

Graeme passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends in the Perth hospital on Wednesday May 8th, 2024 in his 84th year.  He was predeceased by his parents Robert and Gertrude (Brown) McTavish and son Kevin McTavish. Graeme will be sadly missed by his wife Brenda Anne (Foster) McTavish, daughter Janet (Trevor) Carter and their daughter Siobhan Carter-Boyd (Knyle) Carter and great grandson Knvaun Boyd; daughter Prudence (James) Cameron-Jordan and their children Kierian, Owen, Lyndsey and Nevaeh and son Timothy Cameron, grandchildren Russell and Ethan and great grandson Anthony.  He was predeceased by Janet’s mother Mary Watt.  Graeme will be fondly remembered by his siblings Jack (late Nancy) McTavish and Jim McTavish; sisters-law Vivian (late John) Whalen, Sharon (late Shelley) Mathison, Mary (late Don) Bradley, Audrey (late Russell) Foster, Barb (late George) Foster and brothers-in-law Leslie (Freda) Foster and Ivan (Shirley) Ashby.  He was also predeceased by brothers-in-law, Doug (late Marlene) Foster, Eric (late Lorine) Foster, and sisters-in-law Phyllis Ashby and Heather and Charles Foster.  Graeme will be sadly missed by numerous nephews, nieces, and many good friends.  Graeme was a lifelong resident of Balderson, grew up on the 8th Concession of Bathurst and settled on the 9th Concession of Drummond.  He loved to take care of his garden, his home and property and was a faithful follower of the Lord.  Graeme loved watching the world pass by his home from his garage; he always kept an eye out for neighbours.  Friends may pay their respects at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, 15 Gore Street W., Perth on Thursday May 16th, 2024 from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M.  Funeral service will be held in the Chapel Friday May 17th, 2024 at 10:00 A.M. followed by a reception in the Blair & Son Family Centre.  Memorial donations in memory of Graeme to the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (C.H.E.O.) or St. Andrews United Church, Lanark would be appreciated.  Thank you to the 2nd floor and ICU staff for the tremendous care they provided Graeme in his final days.
