Obituary of Jean Lois McArthur

Passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on Thursday, May 23, 2024 at the age of 93.  Loving and devoted mother of Russell (Charmaine) McArthur, Norma (Tim) Preece, Lisa (Bart) Schultz and is predeceased by her son Bill McArthur, her infant daughter Marilyn McArthur, and great-granddaughter Grace.  Cherished grandmother of Kervan McArthur, Meghan McArthur, Joanne (Cory) Hurlbert, Jeremy (Andrea) McArthur, Brittany, Kristapher, Mackenzie (Brittany), Brandon (Victoria) Preece, Laurie McArthur, Mary (Dave) Jarvis, Katy McArthur, and proud great-grandmother of Payton, Paisley, Parker, Blake, Blaire, Preston, Hannah, Alivia, Elsie, Elliott, Liam, Bailey, Cohen, Scarlett, Ocean, Acacia, Oaklyn, Avery, Danielle, and 1 great-great grandchild Finnigan. Jean is also predeceased by her siblings William (Patricia), Kervan, Sheldon Salter, and Iona King. Jean will be fondly remembered by her daughter-in-law Brenda McArthur, her sister-in-law Gloria Salter, as well as her nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.  Jean’s family would like to thank her caring PSW Amanda, as well as the doctors, nurses and medical staff of Med Surge Unit at the Smiths Falls Hospital for their care and concern for Jean’s medical care.  Friends may gather at Blair & Son Funeral Home, Smiths Falls on Monday, May 27, 2024 from 11:30 until the time of the service in the chapel at 1:30 p.m. Interment will take place at Franktown Cemetery.  If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Lanark Legion ~ Ladies Auxiliary.
