Obituary of Edna Pearl Emon

 EMON, Edna Pearl (nee Echlin)

 

Edna passed away at Lanark Lodge on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at the age of 86, surrounded by her loving family.Edna was born on June 26, 1938; she was the daughter of the late Howard and Agnes (Sweeney) Echlin. She was predeceased by her husband (Ernest) Ray Emon (2008) and her grandson Tripp.  Edna was the dearly loved mother of Beverly (Steven) King, Danny (Joanne), Nancy (late Wayne) Cameron, Peggy (Mark) Bingley, Kathleen ‘Rosie’ (Marcel) Paradis, Lesa (Cameron) Bennett and Robin (Stephen) Knight and cherished Grandmother of 16 Grandchildren; Jason (Tanya), Mark (Annie), Jessica (Ryan), Chelsea (Brandon), Mitch (Sarah), Dwayne, Danny (Sherry), Joseph (Cheryl), Bradley (Amanda), Cody (Liz), Katelyn, Marcy (Dan), Dylan (Nikki), Riley (Kelli), Shelby (Nick), Amy, 30 Great Grandchildren, and 3 Great Great Grandchildren.

Edna was a dear sister of: Emma (Gerald) Desjardine and Margaret (late Edward) Milotte and the late Jim (Doreen), Lloyd (Sarah), Lucy (Lawrence)Wark, John (Bertha), Annie (Jack)Smith, Kate (Garnet)Sargeant, Reginald (Joyce), Viola (James) Charlebois.  She was the sister-in-law of Connie (late Andy) Emon, Victor (Anna Mary) Emon, Eric (late Shirley) Emon, Catherine (Clifford) Johnson and the late Thelma (Tony) Senack, Janet Emon, Betty (Frank) Senack, Bill (Gertie) Emon, Earl Emon, Frank (Agnes) Emon, Keith (Ruth)Emon. Edna will be fondly remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews, all her family and many good friends and the Staff at the Lanark Lodge.

Edna married Ray Emon on February 23, 1957.  They had seven children. When first married she lived in Calabogie for a few years had decided to move back to where she was raised in Lanark, Ontario.  Edna is an amazing mother who gave her children a good set of values.  She taught them to work hard, care for family, friends and people and most of all to enjoy life.  She is a wonderful grandmother who is fun loving, kind and always has a special way to make things better.  She taught them traditions that she hopes they will continue on in life.  She always has a hug or a kiss on hand.  As a great grandmother she continued to give them as much love as she does her grandchildren and her own children.

Friends may pay their respects at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, 15 Gore St. West, Perth on Tuesday,  June 25th, 2024 from 3:00 to 8:00 P.M. The funeral service will be held in the Chapel on Wednesday June 26th, 2024 at 10:00 A.M.  Interment Pine Grove Cemetery.
