Obituary of Gordon Lawrence Girard

Peacefully in Kingston hospital surrounded by loved ones, on Sunday July 7th, 2024 Gordon Lawrence Girard at the age of 64 passed away. Beloved father of Erica (Kyle) and Candace (Ethan), proud grandfather of ten grandchildren and great grandfather to sweet Lydia. Survived by his siblings Beulah, Sybil, Sandra, Dean, Wayne, Linda, Gerry and Elsie. Predeceased by his mother Gertrude and father Richard, his loving wife Janet, siblings Carl, Carol, Lorretta, Lorne, David and his nephew Jason. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.

Gord left his home of Gaspe Quebec as a teen in pursuit of work, where he then spent many years doing factory work and being a do it yourself handy-man, mostly red-green style. He always returned home for the summer, where he would fish and enjoy time with family and friends, never shy of a party. He will be greatly missed for his infectious energy and his mischievous smile.

In keeping with Gord’s wishes, a cremation has taken place. A graveside ceremony will take place July 27th, 2024, 1pm at Emily Cemetery, Omemee Ontario, where he will be laid to rest along side his wife Janet.

To further honor Gord’s wishes, there will be a celebration of life back home in Gaspe, details to follow. The family thanks you all for your kindness at this time.
