Obituary of William President

It is with heavy hearts that we announce that William President passed away peacefully at Lombard Manor on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at the age of 71 following a brave battle with cancer. 

William was born in Mon Repos, St. Lucia. Better known as “Crash” to those close to him, his calm yet strong-willed presence impacted a lot more people than he realized. Cancer was one of the biggest challenges he faced and in his usual style he would not give in; however, it slowly took over. As a man who loved the essentials in life, he did not want people to feel sorry for him or be sad because he was taken from us sooner than we had planned.

He is survived by his children Durwin President, Michelle President, Irwin Smith and Avalia Joseph and his grandchildren Aiden President, Amanda President, Annabelle Thomas, Adam Thomas, Matthew Joseph Jr. Chenelle Joseph, Elijah Joseph and Dylan Joseph.  He will be sadly missed by his siblings Maria (Ta) Fevrier, Martina Innocent (Miguel), Janita Fevrier (Madrina), Paula Ross, Celia Child and Vega Petra President. William will be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews, Roen Smith, Ingrid Smith, Titus Innocent, Henry President, Hensbert Fevrier, Luan Fevier-Barnette, Neil Fevrier, McCous Fevrier, Roselle Charley, Colletta Aruoma, Jacquelyn Charlery, Tony Charlerly, Joan Charlerly, Natalie Pierre, Latonia Pierre, Luciann Fevrier-Gajadhar, George Innocent, Corneilia Innocent, Jasmin Rabsatt, Ernest Ross, Paulina President, Kenneth President and Paula Marturin.  He is predeceased by his sisters Anastasia (Rosena) Smith, Patricia Charlery and his brother Edward (Rupert) President. He is also predeceased by his nephew Malan President and his niece Lisa Charlery. He will be fondly remembered by his many extended family and friends.  

There will be a Celebration of Life for William on Friday, August 23, 2024 at Annunciation Of The Lord Parish 2414 Ogilvie Rd, Gloucester, K1J 7N5 from 11am-12pm. The funeral will be followed by a reception in the parish hall.  

If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Ottawa Cancer Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
