Obituary of Garneita Sayeau
Shirley Garneita Sayeau (Bradshaw) passed peacefully on Sunday July 14, 2024 at Kingston Health Sciences Centre (Kingston General Hospital) at the age of 80.
Loving mother of Shelly Vanderlinden(James), Kevin Sayeau (Kelli Blunt) and Wendy Jollota. Treasured Grammie/Grams of Jessica Vanderlinden(Bryce Wedow), Justin Vanderlinden(Kajol Ohri), Kyle Sayeau(McKenna Brown), Natalie Jollota and Emily Jollota. Loving sister to Patty Buchanan (Dean), niece Breanne (Dave), and Arthur Bradshaw (Linda). Predeceased by her parents Charles and Thora Bradshaw (Beamish) and siblings Bob and Ralph Bradshaw. Garneita will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
Garneita was born and raised in Smiths Falls. She graduated Nursing School at the Brockville General Hospital in 1965. She was Registered Nurse, in Emergency, 1st east and 3rd floor at the Brockville General Hospital before returning to college to obtain her Occupational Health Nurse certification. She was then employed at Automatic Electric. Her career path then changed to being the Administrator at the Willowdale Retirement Centre in Smiths Falls, when she retired at the age of 69. She loved working with people and found all of her work extremely rewarding.
Garneita loved nothing more than spending time with her children and grandchildren. She had a way of making everyone feel special. She loved her family more than anything.
Garnetia’s generosity, spirit, love, humor/wit and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of all those whose lives she touched.
Family and friends may pay their respects at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, 112 Beckwith St. N., Smiths Falls on Friday, August 2, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. followed by a celebration of life service in the chapel. A reception will be held after the service with interment following at Wolford Cemetery.
