Obituary of Pat Crampton

Crampton, Patricia (nee Smith)
March 28, 1937 - July 24, 2024

Pat Crampton passed away peacefully at home on July 24, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born on March 28, 1937, Pat filled her 87-year life with love, kindness and dedication to her family and community. She was the loving wife of Barrie Crampton for 66 years. Beloved mother of Judith (David) Brierley, Randall (Kathy) Crampton, Cynthia (Les) Crampton-Cooley and James (Julie) Crampton. Pat was the proud grandmother of nine grandchildren, Rebecca (Luke), Adam (Esta), Matthew (Sarah), Lauren, Ryan, Rachel, Carrie-Lynn, Garrett and Quinn. She adored her five great-grandchildren, Violet, Nova, Flora, Thomas and Milo. She will be sadly missed by her siblings, Carole (Herb) Meincke, D’Arcy (Lorna) Smith, Lorraine (John) Peer, Debra (Kevin) Bradley and David Smith (late Francine) and her many nieces and nephews.

Pat poured her heart and soul into raising her family, and we all felt her love in every meal and recipe she made, in every tight hug, in every card, gift and occasion she made extra special, and in every phone call and message that always ended with “Love you.”  After raising her family, Pat established a career as a receptionist with AQ Financial Group in Toronto. Upon their retirement, Pat and Barrie moved to Perth and built their dream home along the Tay River. Pat was a dedicated Lioness, an amateur radio operator (VA3 GTY), and a committed volunteer with the Great War Memorial Hospital Auxiliary (Perth) for 26 years - 18 of which she worked in Dr. Anderson’s Clinic. She also enjoyed being active in numerous church and community events. Pat’s favourite place was the family cottage on Brule Lake where she created many cherished memories with her loved ones. She found solace and joy in the tranquility and nature and made it a special place of foundation and strength for the family.

Honouring Pat’s wishes, the family came together to support and care for her at home. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Bayshore Nurse, Kelly Moore. Kelly’s care and dedication provided immense comfort to Pat and guided her family through her final journey. Pat made everyone feel special with her thoughtfulness and kind, caring nature. She leaves behind a legacy of love and service that will continue to inspire all who knew her.

A celebration of life, for family and friends, will be held at Blair & Son Funeral Home, 15 Gore Street W., Perth on Thursday, August 1st, 2024, from 1:00 - 4:00 P.M. commencing with a memorial gathering to honour Pat’s life led by dear friend Barry Joynt. As Pat requested, a tea party and time to share memories with the family will follow. In consideration of those with sensitivities and allergies, we kindly ask that  you refrain from wearing perfume or strong fragrances.
