Obituary of Patrick Sean Fitzsimmons

Patrick Sean Fitzsimmons, 68, of Ottawa, Ontario, left this world on August 1, 2024.

 In Consolation to Du Perrier, François Malherbe describes death as rigours like no other. No matter how much we pray to her, the cruel one that she is, covers her ears and leaves us screaming.

Death got the better of our dear Patrick at the age of 68 years, six months and a few days. Patrick was the last survivor of his family. Patrick moved in Clarence-Rockland, Ontario at the end of 2008 after spending several years in Smiths Falls.

Patrick had a positive outlook on life and was able to overcome the challenges and obstacles on his path due to his courage resilience and determination.

Patrick’s contagious smile left no one indifferent and radiated like the most beautiful.

Patrick’s death has left all those who worked with him and knew him in the deepest of dismay, reminding us of the fragility of human nature. But where he is, Patrick looks at us as he used to, and with that smile, he tells us that he is comfortable and that we must never forget his lessons of resilience, courage, bravery, and determination.

Through death, Patrick went to join his biological family, his parents who already preceded him.

All are welcome to join for a funeral service to celebrate Patrick's life on Friday, August 23, 2024 at the Jardins Belle Rive retirement home event room 2950 Laurier Street, Rockland at 1:30 p.m. A reception will follow. For those who wish donations to Fondation Valoris Foundation de/of Prescott-Russell would be appreciated. Arrangements are in the care of Blair & Son Funeral Directors, Smiths Falls.
