Obituary of Margaret Scott

Dorothy 'Margaret' Scott
August 1, 1934 - August 15, 2024

Margaret passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, August 15th, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She died at the age of 90 years after a courageous battle with cancer. Margaret was the beloved and dedicated wife of the late Robert Scott. She will be deeply missed by her loving family Sidney (Bev) Scott and his children Janice (Ryan) Trudel, Amy (Troy) Dobranski, Daniel (Kyla) Scott; Malcolm (Judy) Scott and their daughter Alexa Scott; Heather (Paul) Snider and their children Peter (Ketsia) Snider and Colin (Madison) Snider; and Stephen (Angela) Scott and their children Amanda (Tyson) Scott and Tyler Scott. Margaret was the special great-grandmother to Mia and Quinn Trudel, Naomi and Anna Dobranski, Alyssa and Roman Scott, Julian Snider and Margo and Lucy Snider. She was predeceased by her parents Sidney and Dorothy Ivey, her brother, Ken Ivey and her grand-daughter Kathryn Scott. She will be sadly missed by her siblings, Shirley (late Norman) Welch, Rose Marie (Harold) Thoms, Dennis (Marge) Ivey and her sister-in-law Susan Ivey.

Margaret was born in Virden, Manitoba and lived in Perth, Ontario since 1959. She poured her heart and soul into raising her family, supporting her husband's construction business, nurturing her flower beds and garden and serving tirelessly in the church.

The family would like to thank Dr. Oh and the kind, caring staff from Bayshore Home Health and St. Elizabeth Healthcare.

Friends may pay their respects at the Blair & Son Funeral home, 15 Gore St. West, Perth on Tuesday, August 20th from 4:00 - 7:00 pm. A Celebration of Life will be held in the chapel on Wednesday, August 21st at 10:00 am. Interment will be in Prestonvale Cemetery.

Donations may be made to Knox Presbyterian Church, McDonalds Corners or the Chemo Unit at the Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital.
