Obituary of Beverly Alice King

Beverly Alice (Echlin) King

December 2nd, 1954  -  August 31st, 2024

Beverly passed away at the Perth Hospital on Saturday, August 31st, 2024, in her 70th year, with her family by her side.  She was the loving mother of Jason (Tanya) and Mark (Annie) and cherished Grandmother/Nan of Montana, Marshall, Griffan, Mason, Lily, Taylor, Hannah, Peyton, Colton and Addison.   Great Grandmother to Jax, Blakey, Ainsley. Bev is predeceased by her parents Edna (Echlin) Ray Emon, and her treasured grandmother Agnes (Sweeney) Echlin.  She was the dear sister to Danny (Joanne), Nancy (late Wayne), Peggy (Mark), Kathleen (Marcel), Lesa (Cameron), Robin (Stephen). She will be remembered by her numerous nieces and nephews, her many extended family and friends and neighbours in the Lanark area and surrounding communities. Words cannot express how deeply she will be missed by her close friend Sadie who stood by her. Special thanks to the Nursing Staff at Perth Hospital.

Bev will always be remembered as an independent woman who through perseverance showed us you can accomplish many things in life.  She was a fighter who fought the battle of cancer three times.  During her fight she would be there for others before herself.  All who knew her young and old remember her for her outgoing positive personality, and she acted as a beacon of strength and wisdom for everyone around her. Bev worked at the Bank of Nova Scotia in Lanark for numerous years, Canadian Tire in Perth, then at the age of 55 went back to school.  She graduated as a Personal Support Worker.  She went on to work in her field as a PSW for Mills Community Support in Almonte.  She had a true sense for caring for those in need, especially the elderly. For relaxation, down time Bev enjoyed family gatherings, toll painting and working in her beautiful flower gardens.

Cremation has taken place.  In keeping with her wishes, a private family burial will be held at a later date, interment Pine Grove Cemetery. In memory of Beverly, donations to Canadian Diabetes Association or the Canadian Cancer Society.
