Obituary of Sharon Diane Bruce

We are sad to announce the passing of our dear Mom on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at the Ottawa Civic Heart Institute at 78 years young. Loving mother of Deborah (Fred Schuh) Kimberly (Bill Shields) and Scott.

A proud Gran to Kyle (Lacey) , Nathan (Candice) Chelsea (Brodie) Hunter (Renee) Summer and Bryson and great GG to Max, Presley and Myla-Rose, Auntie, Great Auntie, Great Great Auntie and loyal,  loving  friend of many.

Sharon was pre-deceased by her parents, Reginald and Alice Parsons, her big brother Ronald, her beloved Son-in Law, Bill Shields, and her late husband, Jim Bruce.

Mom recently retired in January and through fate, met her soul mate Robert Kearney. He filled her heart with love, hope and truly made her the happiest we had seen her in her whole life.  Mom loved you so very much.

Our mom was a feisty, a force of energy, fiercely protective of her family and extremely well-dressed. She was especially kind to strangers and loved animals.

In lieu of flowers, any donations to Alzheimer's Society in Mom's name would be greatly appreciated and will honour the many loved ones she has lost to this horrible disease. This is also to honour her beloved Nephew Wayne, who is living with and fighting Alzheimer Disease.

In honour of our mom, perhaps thinking about dropping off a plant or flowers on her behalf, to your local long-term or nursing home to brighten someone’s day. She always loved to give and receive flowers any time of the year.

Following Mom’s wishes, cremation has taken place and we will plan a celebration of life once we catch our bearings and give ourselves time to breathe.

Mom' s wishes are to have her ashes buried in Topley, BC so she will have one final flight adventure where she will be next to Jim and to be close to Wayne R. and Trish Parsons and all the farm animals she adored.

Mom, you were taken too soon but you left us beautiful memories, your love is still our guide, although we cannot see you, you're always by our side.

You will be missed deeply by all who knew and loved you.
