Sadly, Eric and I lost touch a few years after graduating from the University of Waterloo. I’ll remember him as a thoughtful and kind man, always ready for a chat and a laugh. We worked together at the Bombshelter Pub and cycled many of Waterloo Region’s roads and trails together. I was shocked to hear of his passing - he was far too young.
My condolences to Barbara and Mrs. Kurtz and family.

Dear Barbara, I was so very sorry to hear of Eric's passing. He was an amazing human being who touched so many with his love of life and learning, and his generosity of spirit. He was an amazing teacher/mentor/guide/adventurer to 9 to 12 year olds and just as inspirational to colleagues. He touched my life indelibly in the very best ways.
I hope your memories of the good times and the knowledge that Eric lives on in all those he touched lightens your grief over time. My deepest condolences, Pat Gere

Barbara, so very sad to hear of the loss of Eric. He was my son’s teacher and left an incredible mark. He was passionate, kind and had such a joy for what he did. All of us were fortunate to have him share his wisdom and kindness with our children. He was well loved.

Uncle Eric was such an amazing person, and we will all miss him very much. His sense of adventure was an inspiration to everyone.
I still remember this memory of when dad, Mark, Adam, Uncle Eric, and I went for an all-day hike along this river. It really captures his personality. Love you Uncle Eric!

Uncle Eric was a wonderful person that I am sure made friends everywhere he went. He was that type of person, always ready with a quick smile, a warm hug, a good conversation, or a great story to share. We are so sorry to hear of his passing and send our love and support to Barb, and all of Eric's family. He will leave a hole in our hearts but we will remember and cherish his memory forever.

On the day you passed away. I was hiking the Highline trail in Glacier National Park in Montana. There is a mountain called Heaven’s Peak. I captured this beautiful photo and thought of you and Barb before I knew you had passed. I always remember the love you had for nature. You will be missed Uncle Eric. To Aunt Barb my sincere condolences to you as you navigate this difficult time.
Love,
Samantha

To my cousin Barb.. I am so sorry for your loss of your best friend/husband Eric. Eric was a great guy and I will miss our chats at the THD. I enjoyed seeing you guys each and every time we met, and the smiles you brought to me. Eric and you enjoyed such a wonderful relationship that was on based on so many things, which included travel, endless projects, learning, and your love of your farm in Lanark Highlands. I am sorry we did not have a chance to get together this hectic summer as we had planned. Colleen and I, thoughts and prayers are with you and Eric's extended family at this difficult time.. I am here and let know when you are up for a visit. David and Colleen Robertson, Carleton Place, Ont
