Obituary of James Edward Schonauer

Jim passed away at Lanark Lodge, Perth on Friday September 20th, 2024 in his 81st year.  He was the loved husband of Nancy (Nagle) Schonauer; father of Mary Ann Chenard, Michael (Julie) and Robert (Debbie) Schonauer and Bobbi Truelove; grandfather of Sarah, Brandon and Emily Schonauer, MacKenzie Weir, Lorelei and Ashlyn Truelove;  brother of Marg (Deb) Morrow, Delmar (Linda) Schonauer, Delores Gemmill, Bob (Noreen) Schonauer and Karen (Maurice) Diotte and brother-in-law of Joanne "Bunnie" Schonauer.  He was predeceased by brother Doug Schonauer.  James retired after more than 25 years of service to Heritage Silversmiths, Perth.   Jim was known for his ethic of hard work, in particular his craftsmanship as a carpenter.  He also enjoyed building model airplanes and his years as a member of the Perth Model Flying Club.

Friends and family will gather for a Mass of Christian burial at St. John's Church, Perth on Tuesday October 1st, 2024 at 10:00 A.M. Interment, St. Johns Cemetery. All are welcome to attend the reception immediately following interment, 12:30 to 3:30 P.M. at the Perth Civitan Hall.  In remembrance of James, memorial donations to the Cancer Clinic of the Ottawa General Hospital would be appreciated.
