Obituary of Lawrence Edward James

Passed away peacefully at the Smiths Falls Hospital on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at the age of 90.  Beloved husband and best friend of Margaret Rose (nee Hamilton) for more than 67 years.  Loving and devoted father to Gregory (Louise) James, Steven (Susan) James, and Daniel James.  Cherished grandfather of Mark (Aleana), Amy, Shawn, Joseph, Cory, Curtis (Alyssa), Jessica (Joe), Cody and Josh James; and proud great-grandfather to his many great-grandchildren.  Lawrence will be sadly missed by his sisters Lorna (Roland) Thompson and Evelyn (late Mike) Bennett and Barbara (Harold) Horner, and his sister-in-law Ruth James. Lawrence was predeceased by his brothers Douglas, Donald, Allan James, and his sisters Wilma Linton, Eileen Strika, Betty Wright, and Linda Echlin.  He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. All are welcome to gather at Blair & Son Funeral Home, Smiths Falls on Monday, November 25, 2024, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service in the Chapel at 12 o’clock.  A reception will follow the service, with interment taking place at Pine Grove Cemetery in Lanark. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
